The walk aimed to raise awareness of mental health issues and promote understanding and acceptance within the community. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mustapha Kabba praised Orange Sierra Leone for its role in supporting mental health initiatives and addressing stigma.

Dr. Abdul Jalloh, a consultant psychiatrist, highlighted the importance of improving access to mental health services and fostering supportive environments for open discussions about mental health.

In addition to the walk, Orange Sierra Leone hosted a Mental Health Awareness Talk for its employees on Monday, 12 October 2026. The session, themed “We All Have Mental Health,” featured insights into emotional wellbeing and stress management. Employees actively participated, discussing the pressures they face both professionally and personally.

On 15 October 2026, Orange Sierra Leone also participated in the National Mental Health Symposium, which brought together government officials, mental health professionals, and stakeholders to explore strategies for improving mental health awareness and services in the country.

Priscilla Ngozi Okechukwu from Orange Sierra Leone emphasised the company’s commitment to fostering a healthy workplace environment and supporting initiatives that promote employee wellbeing. The company’s involvement in World Mental Health Day activities reflects its broader commitment to social responsibility and community development.

Through its participation in these events, Orange Sierra Leone reinforces the message that mental health deserves equal attention as physical health, urging all voices to be heard in the pursuit of a more compassionate and supportive society.
