The inaugural Alamein Africa Forum will be held from 2 to 4 October 2026 in the historic city of Alamein, Egypt, coinciding with the African Union’s mid-year summit. This forum, established following an African Union mandate to create a permanent business forum, aims to unite Heads of State, official delegations, and prominent figures from the business and finance sectors.
The forum is designed to be Africa’s leading event that combines political influence with entrepreneurial talent, linking established growth sectors with emerging industries shaping the continent’s future. Confirmed attendees include the Presidents of Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Libya, Senegal, Somalia, and South Africa, along with Egypt’s President Al Sisi, who is hosting this year’s summit. Notable business leaders like Ralph Mupita of MTN, Idrissa Nassa from Coris Bank, and Aliko Dangote, Africa’s largest industrialist, are also expected to participate.
The Alamein Africa Forum will provide a vital platform for aligning investment and policy priorities, fostering partnerships, and enhancing financing pathways for development. It underscores the importance of integrating the private sector into Agenda 2063, the African Union’s strategic plan for continental transformation.
Co-organised by the Egyptian government, Afreximbank, the African Union, and AUDA-NEPAD, this forum will see influential decision-makers come together in a unique public-private partnership.
Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, described the summit as crucial for enhancing direct connections between businesses and market stakeholders at the highest levels. Dr. George Elombi, President of Afreximbank, emphasised the forum’s role in promoting intra-African trade and investment opportunities.
