Governor Uba Sani is prioritising significant infrastructure development and rural transformation across Kaduna State, aiming to benefit all citizens, not just those focused on the upcoming election.
Since taking office over three years ago, Governor Sani has initiated projects in every senatorial district, with all 23 local governments, including both rural and urban areas, receiving attention.
After inspecting some major projects, Hon Ibrahim Mohammed, Chairman of the Uba Sani Aides Assembly (USAA), reported that the Governor has launched 160 new road projects, adding to previously inherited ones, resulting in a total of 1,355 kilometres of roads under construction across the state. He emphasised that improvements have not been confined to the capital, and praised the use of reputable contractors and adherence to timelines as signs of a government committed to providing good value for money.
Hon Mohammed highlighted three flagship projects: the Kaduna Modern Inter-State Bus Terminal, the Kabala Costain to Aliyu Makama Road and Bridge, and the reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium. The bus terminal, covering 18 hectares at Millennium City, is noted as the largest of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa, catering to 5,000 vehicles and featuring a solar-powered transport hub designed for efficiency and sustainability.
He explained that the terminal would help alleviate traffic congestion, improve safety for passengers, and boost local economic opportunities by creating jobs and attracting small businesses.
The Kabala to Aliyu Makama Road and Bridge, he added, is now back on track after previous funding issues were resolved, enabling contractors to return to the site. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium is set to expand its capacity from 16,000 to 33,000 seats and include Olympic-standard facilities.
Hon Mohammed also announced plans for a statewide campaign to raise awareness about these projects, calling on citizens to support Governor Sani and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure continued progress in Kaduna State.
