The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Olusola Odumosu, has deployed 3,000 personnel across the FCT to maintain law and order during Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
As stated by the Corps’ spokesperson in the FCT, DSC Monica Ojobi, the personnel will come from various specialised units, including the Arms Squad, Female Strike Force, Crack Squad, Agro Rangers, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) unit, as well as the Counter Terrorism Unit.
The deployment also includes significant personnel in high-risk areas and venues such as shopping malls, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, and any locations housing critical national assets and infrastructure.
