Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, the Director-General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), has emphasised his commitment to accountability and transparency, urging greater cooperation between the organisation and the media.
Speaking at a media event on Wednesday, 21st October 2026, at Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown, Jalloh framed the occasion as a chance to strengthen ties with journalists rather than a formal press conference. He expressed his desire for a long-lasting partnership with the media.
He called on journalists to help improve NASSIT’s performance while also holding the trust accountable for its decisions and resource management. Jalloh encouraged constructive criticism, suggesting that differing opinions should not hinder collaboration for institutional advancement.
Describing his role as a significant national duty, Jalloh stated he is ready to be accountable for his actions. “I report what I do, and I am ready to answer any questions,” he assured journalists, pledging to engage openly with the media.
