DODOMA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has congratulated Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his re-election as President of Brazil. She expressed a commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between Tanzania and Brazil.
In her message, President Samia highlighted the importance of their longstanding friendship and the desire to build on existing ties for the benefit of both countries.
“I look forward to continuing to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation for our mutual benefit,” she stated. She also wished President Lula success in his new term and hoped for continued peace and prosperity for Brazil.
Lula, Brazil’s left-wing president, secured a fourth term by defeating right-wing challenger Flávio Bolsonaro, garnering nearly 52% of the votes in the run-off. He thanked his supporters in São Paulo for defending Brazilian democracy.
