The White House has requested Kimberly Guilfoyle, the US ambassador to Greece, to resign, new Press Secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed on Tuesday.

During her first press briefing since succeeding Karoline Leavitt, Zacharia described Guilfoyle as “an incredible asset to the team” and wished her well, but did not specify whether she had officially stepped down.
Guilfoyle’s position became difficult after the Wall Street Journal published a report detailing her alleged threats against Greece, acceptance of improper gifts, and text messages revealing her attempts to solicit money from a Republican donor in exchange for influence that she could not provide with Trump.
