Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has pledged NLe 4,127,994 (about US$185,000) for the 2026/2027 Sierra Leone Premier League season, reinforcing its commitment to national development through sports.
The sponsorship was formalised in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 8 October 2026 at a ceremony in the Bintumani Conference Complex, Freetown, attended by government officials, football leaders, and corporate representatives.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that LRMG has been the Title Sponsor, with this year’s contribution surpassing last season’s NLe 4,066,164. In a keynote speech, LRMG’s Chief Technical Officer, Salim Sillah, highlighted the sponsorship as the company’s largest contribution to corporate social responsibility, reflecting its confidence in the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) under President Babadi Kamara.
“Our investment has risen from $80,000 in the 2023/2024 season to this record amount today,” Sillah said. “We want to see a league that competes internationally, with better facilities and players.”
Daniel Jing, LRMG’s Admin Manager for PR and Media, described the sponsorship as part of the company’s broader vision to support local communities. “Football is Sierra Leone’s biggest unifier, and we are proud to invest in the dreams of our youth,” he stated.
Sports Minister Augusta James-Teima praised LRMG’s ongoing support for football and youth empowerment, recognising the partnership as one of nation-building. “Football transforms lives, creates jobs, and strengthens communities,” she noted.
Representing the Minister of Information, Zacharia Jalloh commended LRMG for its consistent support, stating it is a symbol of commitment to the country. He emphasised the unifying power of football, saying it inspires hope among the youth and strengthens community ties.
The National Sports Authority Chairman, Mohamed Alpha Conteh, expressed gratitude to LRMG for maintaining its partnership and highlighted the need for increased youth participation in sports.
The Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, Tommy, thanked LRMG for its vital role in professional football, assuring that the funding will enhance competition and welfare while ensuring transparent use of resources.
