Justice Adrian Fischer has issued a stern warning to those allegedly disrupting the electoral processes of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC). He called on party leaders, including Osman Foday Yansanneh and Sidi Yaya Tunis, to instruct their members and supporters to refrain from actions that could damage the integrity and peaceful nature of the party’s elections.
Justice Fischer stated that anyone brought before the court for disrupting APC activities and found guilty could remain in custody until after the party’s National Delegates Conference, depending on the law and the court’s ruling.
“I AM NOT JOKING, AND I AM SERIOUS!” he declared.
To ensure clarity, Fischer delivered part of his warning in Krio, emphasising the need for law and order during the electoral process. He condemned intimidation, threats against political rivals, ballot box tampering, and any chaos at polling stations, insisting these actions must cease immediately.
He stressed that democratic elections require acceptance of both victory and defeat, urging all candidates and supporters to respect electoral rules and allow the process to unfold without intimidation or violence.
Justice Fischer made it clear he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against anyone undermining the electoral processes within his jurisdiction. He firmly stated he is ready to confront anyone intent on causing trouble and will not be intimidated by those seeking to disrupt the elections.
His message was clear: APC internal elections must be conducted peacefully, fairly, and in accordance with the law.
