Seyi Makinde, the Presidential Candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, has urged Nigerians discontented with the current state of the country to support his “Reset Nigeria” agenda.
Speaking to supporters in Bauchi at the launch of the APM’s presidential campaign, Makinde called for a reform of the nation’s security system to enhance the safety of citizens.
He stated, “If you’re unhappy with the way things are today, with the lack of inclusivity and the government’s failure to address issues sincerely, there is a path forward. That path is to reset Nigeria.”
Makinde encouraged attendees to accept any money offered during the campaign, reminding them it’s their own money, but insisted they should vote according to their true feelings, which he believes align with the APM.
Lawal Daura, the APM’s vice-presidential candidate, claimed the party’s Reset Agenda would foster honesty and accountability, ensuring all Nigerians have a role in governance.
He warned against the politics of deceit, promising that the APM aims to promote integrity in government positions.
Bala Mohammed, the APM’s National Leader and Governor of Bauchi State, highlighted the need for a fair and inclusive government should Makinde be elected. He stressed that opportunities must be open to all, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliations.
He added that positions within the government must reflect Nigeria’s diversity, advocating for merit-based appointments in line with the principle of federal character.
Mohammed expressed his support for Makinde due to his positive track record in Oyo State.
