Achraf Hakimi scored a hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain crushed bottom-placed Le Havre 5-1 on Friday, securing their sixth league victory and extending their lead at the top of Ligue 1.
Despite missing several key players due to injury, the European champions showcased their strength, accumulating 20 points from their first nine matches. They sit two points clear of Lille, who moved into second place with a late goal from substitute Olivier Giroud, securing a 1-0 win over RC Lens. Rennes, currently in third with 16 points, suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat at Nice, where Elye Wahi scored three times to help his team climb to seventh after narrowly escaping relegation last season.
At Stade Océane, Le Havre took an early lead through Josh Maja, but PSG quickly equalised when Hakimi set up Mika Godts. Hakimi then scored twice, first with a near-post shot and again from a free kick, before assisting Senny Mayulu to make it 4-1. He completed his hat-trick with a deflected goal in the 69th minute.
PSG manager Luis Enrique expressed satisfaction with the performance, emphasising the importance of squad depth as they aim for trophies. Le Havre remains at the bottom of the table with just two points after suffering five consecutive defeats.
