The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) is revising the Cost Recovery Rules for Independent Transmission Providers (ITPs) to address key regulatory concerns. On 29 October 2026, NERSA approved a consultation paper on the draft amended rules, available on their website at www.nersa.org.za under Electricity > Consultation > Notices.
Stakeholders and the public are invited to submit written comments on the draft rules by 2 December 2026. Comments should be emailed to [email protected].

NERSA will hold a public hearing on the draft rules, and all stakeholders are encouraged to attend. The hearing will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. Anyone wishing to attend or share their views must request to do so by 16:30 on 2 December 2026, by calling 012 401 4660.
Please note that if no requests are received by the deadline, NERSA may cancel the hearing.
